OTTAWA, Ont. (18/02/2012) – Kenny Hayden, a member of the Canadian Ice Carvers Society, demonstrates expert carving skills for the crowds at the Rogers Crystal Gardens at Confederation Park in Ottawa during Winterlude 2012. Hayden, a professional chef of 15 years, said 80 per cent of ice carvers are chefs because it’s “a big part of our business, for example banquets, and big functions.” During the demonstration Hayden answered questions from the crowd while using power tools like a standard chainsaw and electric die grinder to sculpt a wolf’s head.
